World Book Day!

We had a fantastic day last Friday celebrating World Book Day! Lots of the students got involved in the Fancy Dress competition. The winners were as follows:

Lower School First Place: Luna Lovegood, Lower School Second Place: Cat in the Hat.

Upper School First Place: Tina from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Upper School Second Place: Of Mice and Men.

Thanks to everyone who got dressed up!

The Harry Potter quiz took place at lunchtime and was also a fantastic success. Run by a dedicated team of Harry Potter obsessed prefects, we had 24 teams taking part, including a staff team (who came second-to-last!). The winners were Harry and the Potters with an awesome 54 points out of a possible 60!

The character treasure hunt was also fab – thanks to Tilly for sorting it out. Lots of students got involved and searched for the characters which were located in random locations around school! We definitely missed a trick by putting James Bond in Room 004 instead of Room 007…..

We’re hoping to build on WBD celebrations next year, so let me know if you have any suggestions!

World Book Day Prep!

Happy World Book Day everyone! We have been celebrating with various events in the library all week, culminating in the literary fancy dress competition tomorrow and the huge Harry Potter Quiz in the Hall at lunchtime. The prefects have organised a creative writing workshop, a character treasure hunt around school AND a ‘Blind Date with a Book’ display, so it’s been a busy week. More photos to follow of the main events tomorrow!
